Rivani Cross Off €5B Funding for Arcense Mega Parking Project

“Rivani can cross off the 5 billion of the Arcense cousins with whom they hypothesized to complete the funding for the mega parking lot on via Pilati.” This is the reading in an article from Thursday, October 19, following the article from Tuesday, October 17 titled “Underground almost for free with the Arcense contribution.”

Responses and Implications

In practice, the authors of the first article respond with the second, but there is a detail of no minor importance: what do the Rivani and in particular the Riva Town Council have to do with these hypotheses?

Mayor Malossini’s Report

Mayor Malossini delivered a detailed report to the Municipal Council on October 13 regarding the status of funding and the establishment of the Joint Stock Company (Spa) joint venture for the management of the “parking and parking” service, which will implement the project on via Pilati, specifying that the Province was deliberating criteria, procedures, and deadlines for disbursing funds to the two Trentino Committees involved in the installments of the state contribution already received since 1994 and which will be received until 2003, totaling 14,908,621,400 lire.

Details on Funding and Management Control

This was in response to repeated municipal requests, as well as to the selective management control over the realization of public parking lots under law 122/89, carried out by the Court of Auditors at the end of 1999. In the report, it was repeatedly clarified that the resources already allocated in the provincial budget amounting to 11 billion 910 million lire, as well as further planned funds, are destined for two-thirds to the Riva project and one-third to the Arco project. The rest is political speculation.
