Riva’s Tourism Heritage: Union Promotes Museum of Hospitality Culture
The Union of Commerce and Tourism, more than ever in these two thousand, has dedicated significant energy to the cultural rediscovery of the roots of our “hospitality industry.” It is a wise move, and it must be said immediately: because highlighting the insights of our grandparents (who first discovered the potential of the lake and the landscape) is also a way of showing the younger generations that “our heritage” is not an eternal gift, but something to be cultivated with patience and foresight, just like the gardener with his plot of land.
That said… why did the Union sponsor the beautiful exhibition at the Museum (still open in Rocca) on the oldest “advertising signage”? And why, in a few days, will the Union also officially present “L’industria del forestiero” (“The Foreigner’s Industry”), an interesting research paper it commissioned a few months ago from local historian Mauro Grazioli? Is it simply due to a sudden passion for Amarcord?
Initiatives and goals of the Union
No, the Union is fully aware that for some time now, there has been an idea circulating in the Province to create a sort of “Museum of Tourism Culture,” a “living” container of a hundred years of hospitality in Trentino. And the Union does not want to miss — quite appropriately — this opportunity. What other city, if not Riva, can boast such a “museum-worthy” history and internationality? The competition for this venue has already begun.
