Last night, a traffic accident shook the community of Calvagese della Riviera, when a 42-year-old woman, identified as Diana Siminescu, was struck by a hit-and-run driver along the SP78, near the airstrip on Via Marconi in the Carzago Riviera district. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM, and despite the immediate response from emergency services, there was nothing that could be done for the woman: her body was found in a ditch beside the road. The vehicle involved fled the scene and is currently being sought.
Law enforcement agencies are working to identify the hit-and-run driver and have already recovered some fragments of the vehicle that may provide useful clues. Officers are examining local body shops and car dealerships in search of a black Audi suspected to be involved in the accident. Additionally, checks are underway on cameras and access points in the area to gather further evidence. The victim leaves behind a husband, a local police officer in Vallio, and four children.
