A tragic traffic accident shook Calvagese della Riviera last night when a 42-year-old woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver around 1:30 AM. The victim was walking along provincial road 78 in the Carzago district when she was hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene without offering assistance. The violent impact threw the woman into a ditch beside the roadway.
The lifeless body was discovered by a passing motorist, who immediately alerted the authorities. Unfortunately, by the time help arrived, there was nothing that could be done: the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers from the Salò Traffic Police and firefighters also responded, initiating an investigation to identify the fleeing driver, who remains unknown at this time.
