A traffic accident occurred late last night, Monday, May 12, inside the tunnel along the Gardesana Occidentale 45 bis, in the area of Roè Volciano. Around 11 PM, an 86-year-old man lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn. Following the alert, rescuers, along with the highway police and the firefighters from Brescia, intervened to free the driver from the wreckage and handed him over to medical personnel. Fortunately, despite the violent nature of the accident, the man did not suffer serious injuries and was admitted in yellow code to the Poliambulanza hospital in Brescia.
As a result of the incident, significant disruptions to traffic were reported, as the tunnel was temporarily closed to allow for rescue operations and ensure the safety of the affected area. The relevant authorities are investigating the causes that led to the accident.
