A tragic road accident occurred in Toscolano Maderno on Wednesday, September 3rd, when a motorcyclist struck a 59-year-old man as he was crossing the Gardesana road shortly after 8 PM. The impact also caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his vehicle, which came to a stop only after hitting an oleander bush. Emergency services were immediately alerted, with ambulances from the Volontari del Garda and a helicopter from the Civil Hospital of Brescia quickly arriving at the scene. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation attempts, the man died at the site of the accident.
The Highway Police are currently investigating to reconstruct the dynamics of the events. The victim, of Romanian origin and residing in Toscolano Maderno, was seen by his wife, who rushed to the scene and subsequently suffered a medical emergency, requiring hospitalization at the Gavardo hospital. The Italian motorcyclist riding a KTM was transported to the Civil Hospital of Brescia but is reportedly not in life-threatening condition. This incident marks the second serious event in the area within 24 hours; indeed, a 21-year-old English tourist had been struck on the state road 45 bis and was hospitalized in critical condition following a leg amputation.
