Last night, Saturday, May 24, around 10:00 PM, a serious traffic accident occurred along the SS45bis Gardesana Occidentale, between Villanuova sul Clisi and Salò, near the Monte Covolo tunnel. The head-on collision involved two cars and required the urgent intervention of emergency services. Firefighters from Salò, the Valsabbia Local Police, a medical car, and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene, along with an air ambulance from Brescia.
Two men, aged 35 and 54, sustained injuries in the accident; one of them was transported in yellow code to the Poliambulanza hospital in Brescia. Fortunately, the condition of the injured individuals is not critical. Law enforcement is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. To facilitate rescue operations and necessary assessments, the roadway has been temporarily closed to traffic, causing delays in circulation.
