Intensive road checks by the Local Police continue in the Valle Sabbia, with a particular focus on the SS 237 del Caffaro, known for its dangerousness. From May to the present, a total of 197 driving licenses have been revoked due to reckless overtaking, especially near intersections and pedestrian crossings. During the last weekend, law enforcement intensified operations, suspending 13 driving documents and seizing two vehicles for irregularities. Additionally, drugs were reported in the possession of some young individuals, and several drivers tested positive for alcohol and narcotics.
The penalties, mainly imposed on motorcyclists and motorists from other provinces drawn to the area’s scenic curves, highlight a consistent commitment to road safety. Despite the strict measures taken, the accident record for 2025 remains positive: no serious incidents have been reported along the stretch that includes Preseglie, Barghe, Sabbio Chiese, Vestone, Lavenone, Idro, and Anfo. According to the Local Police Command, these results demonstrate the effectiveness of the strategies implemented to enhance the safety of road users in the Valle Sabbia.
