Following the recent and tragic incidents along the Gardesana, Federalberghi Garda Veneto has decided to write to the mayors of the municipalities around Lake Garda to urgently address the issue of road safety. The association, which represents over 430 tourist facilities in the area, has expressed its willingness to actively collaborate with local administrations and law enforcement to identify concrete measures aimed at enhancing safety along the Regional Road 249, known as the Gardesana. President Ivan De Beni emphasized the importance of ensuring safety not only for residents but also for the tourists visiting the region.
For years, Federalberghi has been engaged in initiatives aimed at improving sustainable mobility and reducing vehicle traffic. Among these, notable collaborations with the Transport Company of Verona have been established to promote local public transport, as well as projects like the Opera Bus Service, which connects Lake Garda to the Arena of Verona during the opera season. Additionally, a dedicated portal for cycle tourism has been created, featuring routes designed to encourage more responsible exploration methods. De Beni concluded by stating that investing in alternative mobility is essential for ensuring a better tourist experience and greater safety on the Gardesana.
