Rocca’s Keep New Staircase Boosts City Views and Tourist Access

During the winter months, inside the Rocca’s keep, a staircase has been constructed to realize an old aspiration, driven by the hope of increasing the total visitors to the municipal museum.

This aspiration was to offer the possibility of a view from above, overlooking the city center, the lake, the surrounding countryside up to Arco and beyond.

Protection works and logistical improvements

Before opening to the public, one final touch is needed: the construction of a protective structure, a sort of glass dome or canopy, over the exit to prevent rain from penetrating inside and damaging the staircase and landings.

By next summer, the fortress will be available as a tourist attraction.

Integration with other attractions and the museum’s objectives

The idea is to also offer a climb to torre Apponale using the same ticket.

The museum, which aims to serve as a document of the territory, truly opens a «Garda window».
