Roman Life Lecture Series: Culture, Fashion, Food and Entertainment

Do you want to learn about the lifestyle habits, passions, how they dressed, and how they enjoyed themselves, as well as what they ate and what were the delicacies served at the table in ancient Rome? Then don’t miss the series of lectures on “Public and Private Life in the Roman Empire” organized by the Department of Culture at Palazzo Todeschini, from March 15 to April 6. The event begins, after the presentation by Councillor Giustacchini and Professor de Marinis, with Dr. Da Vos’s (University of Trento) talk on public and private life in Pompeii. On Thursday, March 22, Dr. Betti (University of Milan) will speak about games and entertainment in ancient Rome, followed by Dr. Gagetti (University of Milan) discussing women’s clothing and jewelry in Rome. The series concludes on April 6 with a focus on the pleasures of Roman cuisine, curated by Dr. Carla Boroni (University of Brescia).
