Salerno Nautical Center: Water Activities, Training & Marine Education

The Centro Nautico of Salerno was inaugurated in 1955 and is located in the Lungomare area, near the port.

The center’s headquarters consider the many students who participate in water-related, sailing, and swimming activities. The facility includes a large indoor swimming pool and extensive areas for learning and training.

Activities and Events

Students take part in practical exercises, sailing courses, and regattas. Cultural gatherings and conferences on marine conservation are also held there.

The center collaborates with numerous sports and nautical institutions to promote maritime culture among young people and to support environmental education.

Technical Facilities and Specializations

Among the technical facilities, the center features motorboats and sailing vessels, along with laboratories for equipment maintenance. Activities also target those seeking specialization in rescue techniques and marine safety.

The structure is equipped with spaces dedicated to theoretical teaching, including classrooms for seminars and practical courses.

The main learning building spans multiple floors: on the ground floor are areas for practical exercises and assistance points, while the first floor houses classrooms and administrative offices. External areas include small marinas and spaces for displaying nautical equipment.

The outdoor areas of the center are accessible via pedestrian and bike paths, promoting interaction with the sea and walking activities.

Use of the Center and Multi-Function Activities

The Centro Nautico of Salerno aims to provide a versatile service, targeting not only athletes and students, but also families and local associations.

Recreational activities include sailing courses for children, youth regattas, and evening informational meetings about the sea and boating.
