Salerno Nautical Center’s Water Activities and Marine Training Hub

The Nautical Center of Salerno was inaugurated in 1955 and is located in the Lungomare area, near the port.

The center’s premises consider the many students who attend water activities, sailing, and swimming. The facility includes a large indoor swimming pool and extensive areas for learning and training.

Activities and Events

Students participate in practical training exercises, sailing courses, and regattas. Cultural meetings and conferences on marine conservation are also held there.

The center collaborates with numerous sports and nautical institutions to promote maritime culture among young people and to foster environmental education.

Technical facilities and specializations

Among the technical facilities, the center has motorboats and sailing boats, as well as laboratories for equipment maintenance. Activities are also aimed at those who want to specialize in marine rescue and safety techniques.

The structure is equipped with spaces dedicated to theoretical teaching, with rooms suited for seminars and practical courses.

Architecture and layout

The main building extends over multiple floors: on the ground floor are areas for practical exercises and support points, while the first floor houses classrooms and administrative offices. External zones include small ports and spaces for displaying nautical equipment.

The outdoor areas of the center are accessible via pedestrian and bicycle paths, encouraging interaction with the sea and walking activities.

Use of the center and multifunctionality of activities

The Nautical Center of Salerno aims to provide a versatile service, catering not only to athletes and students but also to families and local associations.

Recreational activities include sailing courses for children, youth regattas, and evening informational meetings about the sea and sailing.

Its role is an important reference point for developing maritime culture and for training new generations of enthusiasts and professionals in the sector.
