On the occasion of the anniversary of the March on Rome, Salò will host two significant cultural events dedicated to antifascism, organized by the Gruppo Ventisette Ottobre, the Circolo Arci “Vittorio Zambarda,” and Anpi Medio Garda. On Saturday, October 25, at 3:00 PM, there will be a 4-kilometer urban trek to explore key locations in Salò’s history from the last century. The main event, titled “Don’t Make All of Salò a Fascist,” will take place on Sunday, October 26, in Piazza della Vittoria at 3:30 PM, aiming to counter the association between the city and fascism, while highlighting the contributions of local citizens to the Resistance. The organizers seek to emphasize that the fight against fascism is not merely a historical issue but continues to impact freedoms and rights today. During the event, contemporary themes related to forms of modern fascism and social issues such as labor and the militarization of schools will be addressed. Musicians will be present to accompany reflections on human rights and historical memory, thereby highlighting the positive and cross-cutting value of antifascism in today’s society.
