A significant event recently took place in Salò, at the Hotel Laurin, also known as Villa Simonini, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was headquartered in this historic building during the Italian Social Republic, drew attention to the events related to the RSI and the importance of such places in the historical context of Lake Garda. On November 18, 1943, Undersecretary Serafino Mazzolini officially began his work in this villa, which at the time served as a government office.
The celebration included a series of articles reflecting on the ministerial activities and the requisition of historic buildings in the surrounding area. The meeting highlighted not only the architectural significance of Villa Simonini but also its crucial role in Italian political history during a tumultuous period. The event was held in an atmosphere of reflection and study, emphasizing the value of historical memory for future generations.
