In Salò, a luxury resort will replace the former Tavina site. The construction of the Falkensteiner Park Resort, a tourist and residential complex costing 140 million euros, has reached its peak and is set to be inaugurated at the beginning of the 2026 season. The building is rising from the remnants of the former mineral water bottling plant, which has now been relocated to Cunettone. This new luxury resort features eco-chic design by architect Matteo Thun and will include a botanical park with a hotel and 170 apartments distributed across 11 five-star buildings. Adjacent to this development is the new resort “Salò sì,” which opened last season.
The project has been enthusiastically received by Barbara Mazzali, the Tourism Councillor of the Lombardy Region, who emphasizes that it represents not only a luxury choice but also a commitment to harmony with the local landscape. However, the initiative has faced criticism from opposition council members and environmentalists regarding potential impacts on traffic and the environment in the area. Proponents argue that the Falkensteiner Park Resort will enhance the tourist appeal of the region for both Italian and foreign markets, contributing to local economic development.
