Salò and Toscolano Mark End of an Era on Lake Garda
Two long-serving figures in the Salò and Toscolano communities have concluded their careers, marking the end of an era. On December 31, Salò’s shoemaker Sergio Quecchia retired after 60 years, receiving a recognition from Mayor Francesco Cagnini and Councillor Andrea Battani. Meanwhile, Toscolano’s local police commander Werner Faoro retired after 45 years of service spanning craftsmanship, the Carabinieri, and local police, thanking residents for their support.
Faoro’s farewell was also on December 31, with him expressing gratitude to the community. His duties will be taken over by colleague Antonio Dalò starting January 1, as the local police command transitions to new leadership amid year-end personnel changes.
