On Saturday, January 11, 2025, **Salò** will host the presentation of the research titled “Global Tourism and Local Contexts: The Role of Municipalities in the Tourist Development of Lake Garda,” conducted by the Observatory for Tourism on Lake Garda (OTG). The event will take place at the Sala dei Provveditori starting at 11:00 AM and will feature contributions from experts, including Professor Valerio Corradi from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. The study, carried out last summer, analyzes local tourism policies and how municipalities are addressing the challenges posed by rapidly evolving tourism.
The focus of the study is on **tourist development**, highlighting both the opportunities and the challenges arising from the increase in tourist presence. The findings suggest that municipalities can act as catalysts for **sustainable tourism**, capable of enhancing local culture and meeting the needs of communities and the environment. During the meeting, Salò’s Mayor Francesco Cagnini and the President of the Garda Community Mariastella Gelmini will deliver institutional greetings, while Giovanni Gregorini and Pierlucio Ceresa will discuss the research results with Massimo Tedeschi.
