Salò and Water Protection: the project “The Lake Starts Here

This morning, the Municipality of Salò launched the project “The Lake Begins Here,” an initiative dedicated to the protection of the waters of Lake Garda. The idea involves the installation of metal plaques next to the city’s storm drains, each depicting a small fish and bearing the message “the lake begins here.” These plaques aim to raise community awareness about the importance of protecting the waters, as each storm drain is directly connected to the lake, and anything that enters it could end up in its waters. During the project’s presentation, a symbolic ceremony took place with the installation of the first plaque along the lakeside. This gesture emphasizes the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding the lake, particularly engaging young people in the process of environmental education and raising awareness about the health of the lake’s ecosystem.
