Salò Appoints Its First Female Mayor to the Youth City Council

Salò’s Youth City Council has renewed its membership and for the first time elected a female mayor: Viola Preziosa, a second-year student at the D’Annunzio middle school, was proclaimed during a municipal session held before the adult City Council, with the post symbolically handed over by her brother and outgoing youth mayor Pietro Preziosa.

Preziosa’s executive team includes Giorgia Pisoni (4B) as assessor for the environment, Leonardo Pasini (4D) for sports, Beatrice Scarpanti (2D) for territorial relations and Chiara Clemente (3D) for culture; elected councillors include Alvise Sestino, Gaia Pedercini, Federico Nolli, Victor Tononi, Alex Boccia, Ilaria Zanca, Nicola D’Amato, Raffaele Gorini, Davide Ghidinelli, Valentina Rodriguez Belotti, Michela Soncina, Carlo Dall’Ora and Gabriele Avigo. The council, active since 2013, is supported by municipal and school referents Lucia Aime, Giuseppe Criscuolo and Emma Uboldi, and Mayor Francesco Cagnini urged the new councillors to practice democracy, respect and community participation.
