Salò CAI Organizes Hike to Tagliata del Ponale on Sunday, April 26

The Tagliata del Ponale hike, promoted by the CAI Salò section, is scheduled for Sunday, 26 April 2026. Participants should meet at 7:00 a.m. at the Centro Agricolo di Salò, with departure at 7:10 after a breakfast stop in Limone, then proceed to Riva, the starting point of the route that runs through more than a kilometer of galleries, stairs and rock-cut stations. The trek features about 200 meters of elevation gain and over 300 steps, spread across five levels with access to tunnels and lake-view observation points.

The guided excursion, led by Sergio Boem with a local guide, lasts about three hours including the fortress visit and ends in the early afternoon. Attendees may bring a packed lunch or remain in Riva afterward. Equipment required includes standard trekking gear and a headlamp, mandatory for the galleries. Registrations are open until Friday, 24 April. For non-members, a €15 CAI contribution applies, covering insurance.
