The photographic exhibition “The Last Winter 1943-1945. From Resistance to Liberation” has been inaugurated at the MuSa in Salò. It is dedicated to the significant moments of partisan history in the Lake Garda area and the Brescia valleys. The exhibition, which will remain open until January 6, 2026, features over a hundred period photographs and documents, many of which are unpublished, curated by Rolando Anni from AREC. The exhibition celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the end of World War II and narrates the stories of men and women who fought against Nazism and Fascism, offering a visual account of a crucial historical period for Italy.
Additionally, on September 19, a conference titled “Photographs, Videos, Memories, and Documents as Historical Sources” will be held, where experts in the field will discuss the importance of such materials for historical research. The exhibition is also supported by contributions from various local associations and private individuals who have provided significant images to reconstruct the collective memory related to the Resistance.
