Salò Civil Protection Drill and Seismic Conference Commemorate 1901 Quake

Today, in the historic center of Salò, a civil protection intervention and lake evacuation exercise will take place. Numerous citizens and high school students have volunteered as extras.

Thanks to their participation, it will be possible to simulate potential scenarios in the unfortunate event of a disaster. The event will start at 9 a.m. with the flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by a fanfare and the setup of the field base at the Canottieri square; activities will continue until 1 p.m.

Details of the simulations

Simulations will include earthquakes, with search-and-rescue operations for people trapped under debris (using specialized equipment) and providing aid to the injured, interventions in the gulf, surveying and recovering architectural, artistic, and bibliographic assets, supplying supplies even in the mountain villages, establishing anti-looting teams, and more.

From 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to view the vehicles of the Civil Protection. Staff will be available for explanations and questions.
