A suicide attempt was thwarted in the waters off the municipality of Salò, thanks to the prompt intervention of the naval units of the Guardia di Finanza. The incident occurred on Wednesday the 9th, around 10 a.m., when a 70-year-old man jumped into Lake Garda. The crews of the Naval Operational Section, engaged in surveillance activities along the coastal stretch, quickly rescued the individual, who was in a state of shock and hypothermia.
Thanks to the deployment of a life buoy and the initial assistance provided on-site, along with an immediate call to emergency services, tragic consequences were avoided. The Guardia di Finanza conducts regular patrols in the area to ensure the safety of boaters and lake users, contributing to a heightened sense of security within the local community.
