Salò Hosts Army Recruitment Event Promoting Short-Term Enlistment

This afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the lakeside promenade of Salò, the Rap-Camp promoted by the Stato Maggiore dell’Esercito will take place.

This event is part of recruitment promotional activities and aims to raise awareness about the commitments, professional life, and employment opportunities offered by the Army. The tour (which also included Cles on August 2, Merano on Saturday, August 4, and today on Lake Garda) seeks to promote, especially among young people, voluntary enlistment for a short-term stay.

Composition and Aims of the Initiative

“The organization is carried out by the Comando militare regionale di Trento,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Giorgio Menossi, director of the agency, Colonel Bonato from the Comando truppe alpine, and General Frigo during a press conference. The choice of the three locations was driven by the desire to be present in both provinces of the Regione Trentino Alto Adige and by the strong demand from a municipality in Lombardy (Salò), where the tradition of the “penne nere” (Black Eagles) is deeply rooted.

Activities and Participation Methods

There will be on display some light vehicles used by the Army (VM/90, Defender, Enduro Motorcycles, lighting tower), a Milan shooting simulator, a «mini war course», and a rock gym, providing the opportunity for visitors to test and measure their skills.

Information about recruitment competitions for enlistment (Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, Vsp, Vfb, Vfa) can be requested. The third call, for volunteers in short-term service, open also to women, was published on July 10 and will close on August 10.

With the previous call, over 12,000 applications have been received, out of 2,583 available positions in the Army, 834 in the Navy, and 250 in the Air Force.
