The first conference of the “Conversazioni francescane” cycle will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 8:30 pm at the Church of San Bernardino in Salò. Titled “Nel segno di Francesco,” the event marks both the eighth anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi’s death and the 550th anniversary of the founding of Salò’s Franciscan convent, and is organized by Ateneo di Salò in partnership with the Municipality, the Parish of Santa Maria Annunziata, and Amici della Musica.

The evening will open with remarks by Andrea Crescini, president of the Ateneo di Salò, and Mons. Gianluigi Carminati, parish priest of Salò, followed by a talk by Prof. Liliana Aimo on the church’s history and its cultural significance for the local community. Musical accompaniment by organist Gerardo Chimini and soprano Cristina Klein, both members of the Ateneo, will accompany the program. Admission is free, and the event is part of the Conversazioni francescane cycle. For more information, contact Ateneo di Salò onlus at via M.
