Salò: Leaning Cypress Threatens Roads; Firefighters Removed It
Late this morning, Wednesday the 20th, a tall cypress leaning precariously over the SS45bis in Salò prompted an intervention by the Salò Fire Department. The alarm was raised around 12:30 PM as the tree threatened the safety of pedestrians and vehicles, and firefighters called in an aerial ladder truck from the central station to operate safely.
Operations, carried out by the local crew with the ladder truck’s support, lasted about two hours. The cypress crown was first lightened and then the tree was completely felled to remove the risk of collapse. The SS45bis remained closed to traffic for about two hours, with localized slowdowns in the area.
