The Municipality of Salò inaugurated today the new video surveillance system, an important step to improve safety in the area. The project, part of the Smart City context, involves the installation of 140 new cameras, in addition to the existing 30.
The new cameras have been placed in the areas considered most sensitive in the city, where episodes of petty crime and disturbance of public peace have occurred in recent months. These incidents have caused inconvenience to both citizens and business owners in the city center.
The initiative is part of a larger project that also includes energy redevelopment interventions for the approximately 4,000 public lighting systems in the municipality. This will not only increase safety but also make the area more sustainable in anticipation of the upcoming increase in tourist presence for the summer season.
The new video surveillance system is therefore an important tool to combat phenomena such as petty crime and disturbance of public peace, providing greater security for residents and visitors. Its implementation has been positively received by the residents of the municipality, who hope for a decrease in negative incidents and greater tranquility in their daily lives.
The municipal administration and law enforcement agencies have worked together to realize this project, demonstrating concrete commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens. Video surveillance is an effective tool for preventing and suppressing crimes, providing law enforcement with important investigative elements.
The new video surveillance infrastructure is part of a broader context of technological innovation and sustainable development that characterizes Salò as a Smart City. This project is a concrete example of how new technologies can be used to improve the quality of life for citizens and make cities safer and more welcoming.
