Salò Promotion Highlights Key Role of Commerce and Tourism in the City
Salò Promotion highlighted the importance of commerce and tourism to Salò during its assembly today, representing over 60% of the city’s businesses with more than 155 member companies out of 258 total establishments. President Andrea Maggioni referenced a recent OpenPolis analysis, which estimates that these sectors generate approximately 2.79 million euros annually for the municipal budget, including over 500,000 euros from the tourism tax and additional revenues from sanctions, parking, and property taxes.
The meeting, open to local operators and members, discussed strategic topics such as tourism flow management, emerging markets, water mobility, and provincial tourism governance. Priorities include controlling commercial rent costs, boosting consumer purchasing power, and managing energy expenses. The recent launch of the District of Commerce was also highlighted as a public-private partnership aimed at urban regeneration and business support.
