Salò Seeks Seasonal Staff for 2026 Tourist Season Amid Challenges
Salò faces ongoing staffing shortages ahead of the 2026 tourist season, with local businesses reporting difficulty in hiring seasonal workers despite the removal of the Citizenship Income and updated national contracts. Andrea Maggioni, president of Salò Promotion, highlighted a persistent mismatch between labor demand and supply as the season approaches.
Currently, over fifty positions remain unfilled in sectors such as hospitality and retail, including roles like bartenders, waiters, cooks, and shop assistants. Nationally, the tourism sector offers around 300,000 jobs annually, with nearly 25% unfilled. In Brescia province, January forecasts predicted over 13,900 new hires, primarily in hospitality and retail, but only 26% of these positions are expected to be permanent, with the rest temporary. An ongoing campaign is collecting resumes to connect job seekers with employers for the upcoming summer.
