Salò Students Support Orphan in Angola Through Solidarity Project
Even the students of the «Battisti» Technical Institute in Salò have adopted a child. His name is Ierassyl Kaymukhambetov, he is Kazakh and four years old. “We collected one million 230 thousand lire” – explain Marika Giacomelli and Elisa Franzoni, in the latest issue of the school’s newsletter. – “Of these, 800,000 were used to purchase a complete pediatric bed at the Divina Provvidenza hospital in Luanda (Angola). The remaining amount contributed to the remote adoption for a period of four months.”
“At the institute where the children are taken in, the total care expense is about 50 dollars per month. Ierassyl and his older brother, who is eight, used to live at home with their elderly grandfather. They were no longer able to swallow food, as they were not used to eating. Their grandmother would lock them inside the house in the morning and go sell peanuts on the street. Then, suddenly, she passed away. A doctor reported the grave situation. Ierassyl is clever and stubborn. He needs affection.”
Although of Muslim faith, he often pauses with others to recite the rosary. Or, at least, he is learning not to disturb. Thus, a blue ribbon for «Battisti», which joined the solidarity project through Ummi di Negrar, represented by Professor Bianca Bonomini Pelizzari, and the Altolago Association (Elisabetta Zane).
