Salò Triathlon Upgrades to Gold Race in 2026 With New Pink Badge
The 9th Triathlon Sprint City of Salò will attain Gold Race status in 2026 and will introduce the Bollino Rosa, with separate starting waves for men and women, according to a Friday May 8 press conference held at the former Monte di Pietà in San Felice del Benaco. Attendees included Mayor Marzia Manovali, Sports Councillor Giovanni Tonoli, Deputy Mayor Alberto Comini, Canottieri Garda Salò President Nicola Benedetti, and Race Director Massimo Ruffini, with a message from Undersecretary Federica Picchi and a phone connection from FITRI President Riccardo Giubilei confirming regional support and international participation.
The event, organized by Canottieri Garda Salò with sponsorship from the municipalities of Salò and San Felice del Benaco, features a 10:00 women’s start from Spiaggetta delle Rive for a 750 m swim, a 20 km hilly bike leg via a multi-lap course reaching San Felice del Benaco via Via Zette, and a 5 km final run back to Salò; men start at 14:00. About 100 volunteers will support the event along with security forces from ANC Valle del Chiese, Coast Guard, Guardia di Finanza, and Local Police. The sponsor village opens the Saturday before for packet pickup, guided tours of Mu.Sa. for registered participants, and the Trofeo San Felice del Benaco awarded to the largest team.
