Salò, underwater cleanup: submerged waste recovered during divers’ cleaning operation. On Sunday morning, a group of around twenty freedivers participated in an important underwater cleanup operation, which took place from 9 to 11:30 AM. The activity was conducted from the pier to the Coast Guard mooring, where various types of waste were surfaced, including truck tires, bicycles, cables, and various ropes, along with pots and dishes. The mayor of Salò, Francesco Cagnini, observed the initiative from the lakeside and thanked the volunteers for their commitment.
Stefano Govi from Apnea Sub of Brescia expressed gratitude to the local police chief, Stefano Traverso, for the permits granted, and to the Coast Guard for their support in the water during the operations. Additionally, Garda Uno assisted with the disposal of the collected materials around noon using two vans. The event represents a further step in the fight against pollution in local waters and underscores the importance of collaboration between institutions and volunteers.
