San Felice Publishes First «Insieme» Newsletter with 2001 Public Works

The first issue of «Insieme», the newsletter of the Comune di San Felice, has been published. The editorial committee is composed of Mayor Ambrogio Florioli, Public Education Councilor Massimo Moretti, Guia Bolognani, Michele Cassarino, Silvio Franceschini, and Gianfranco Pizzocolo.

Among other news, an overview of ongoing public works is included: the expansion of the nursery school «Anna Maria Borghese» in Portese, the renovation of the post office in front of the monumental church in the historic center (the company Alberto Baccolo e Figlio was awarded both contracts), the construction of the new olive oil mill in the Gere area, and the paving of roads covering a total area of 20,000 square meters.

Projects and works scheduled for 2001

For 2001, plans include the completion of the paving of the Cisano settlement (costing 210 million lire); the finishing of the sidewalk along via del Carmine (210 million lire); the renovation of the square in Portese, based on the project by surveyor Momino Mometti (the loan contracted with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti in Rome amounts to 632 million lire); approximately thirty new crypts in the cemetery to meet immediate needs (135 million lire), with the possibility of constructing another 90 crypts and ten family tombs in the future, costing 650 million lire.

Work is underway for the hydraulic improvement of the Cisano stream and the upgrading of the lifting system at the lake intake of the aqueduct, in the Porticcioli area (400 million lire).

Other minor projects will include lighting at the San Felice port and at the area adjacent to the Cisano church, sanitary facilities at the Portese port, and the removal of architectural barriers in the library and in the Palazzo ex Monte di Pietà.

The technical office has prepared a study for interventions on the aqueduct and sewer systems (costing 186 million lire). Architects Giuseppina Ferrari and Andrea Bona are drafting the preliminary design for the cycle-pedestrian pathways.
