The San Marco Tower in Gardone Riviera will not close, but the historic nightclub on Lake Garda will be discontinued. Recently, the owning Foundation confirmed that the change in management will not lead to the closure of the venue, dispelling rumors spread by an online petition. The petitioners had claimed that a new owner intended to keep the venue closed to avoid noise. However, local hoteliers and merchants express concern over the potential loss of an estimated economic impact of around 10 million euros linked to events held at the Tower.
The president of the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation, Giordano Bruno Guerri, reassured the local community by stating that there are specific commitments in the contract for the new management, and that both the Tower and the Vittoriale will remain open to the public. Guerri also downplayed concerns regarding the economic impact, asserting that activity will increase without the nightclub and highlighting the support received from the mayor and the president of the Brescia Chamber of Commerce on the Foundation’s board of directors.
