Two sixteen-year-olds experienced a night of fear on Mount Baldo, in the Municipality of San Zeno di Montagna, while they were camping. Around 11 PM, the boys heard howls and suspicious noises coming from the woods, leading them to fear they were being surrounded by wolves. In a state of panic, they immediately contacted emergency services for assistance.
The Fire Brigade responded swiftly, alerting the staff from the nearby Chierego Refuge, who drove to the scene to bring the two youths to safety. Carabinieri and Fire Brigade personnel also arrived at the incident site, but fortunately, no animals were spotted in the area. The incident raised concerns about the safety of campers in this mountainous region, highlighting the importance of safe camping in the presence of wildlife.
