Scam Alert: Fake Authorities Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Central and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the true Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would not show themselves again.
