Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Contact Business Owners in Garda

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scam artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
