Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Phone Calls Offering Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions on behalf of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, firefighters, or municipal authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, stop appearing.
