Scam Warning: Fake Carabinieri Impersonators Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the arme.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
