Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or the Comune fire department.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they demand money, disappears thereafter.
