Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer make themselves visible.
