Scammers Faking Police Contact Hoteliers and Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

would seek money and then disappears.
