Scammers Impersonate Authorities in Garda Area, Warns Carabinieri

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
