Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They break through for Carabinieri when trying to contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas by phone, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
