Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or to the Comune guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri—just dial 112—once you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
