Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Fraud Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions related to the force.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
