Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Steal from Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone contact with hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant operators in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
