Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the Arma.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
