Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal guards.

Recognizing the scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately report to the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
